I would like to remove the Blaupunkt equalizer in my 944 Turbo S to install the cubby hole below the radio. I can get it partway out, but it sticks, and I don't want to break it. What's the trick in removing it? I have the tool for removing a Blaupunkt radio, but the equalizer doesn't have the little holes on the side for pulling it out. Any expert advice would be appreciated.

 

Does the EQ work? Interested in getting rid of it...???


Oh, and as for your question, I have no idea how to remove it. Mine came with the cubby...

 

Do your amps work? I have the same system in my 89 S2 and the volume is not steady. I may be interested in your amps if they work, and you will be replacing them too.

 

I just took the EQ out of my '87 NA. The bezel has a spring clip on either side, and a third spring clip is mounted to the cross brace under the unit.

To get the EQ out you need to pull the radio, and then push the EQ out from the back.

 

Charlotte944, that's just the information I needed. Rennlist rocks. Now all I have to do is figure out how to get the radio out. If I recall, it's a Kenwood - with a light show I can't stand.

Sorry, I don't know if the eq works; the lights don't turn on, so I assume it's disconnected.

 

I've got a Kenwood KDCS-3007 in my 951, and to get the radio out I went to a Best Buy store and got a set of removal tools. The techs had several sets, so they gave me a set for nothing.
