Did you take the square clip thing off that holds it into the rail. I know, dumb question. Sorry.

They should pop right out after you take off the clip that holds them into the rail. I doubt that once you have that clip out that you would damage the injector when taking it out.

gator -> no question is dumb ^^' Yeah, i got the clips. I belive they are somehow being sucked in, or perpaps theyve never been removed so theyre wedged in there nice and tight. Thx for the response, just double checking.

Did you unscrew the end of the rail to let the pressure out? This is kinda dangerous because it will drip gas, but I am assuming you did you best to purge the rail of fuel prior to disassembly. IE pulled fuel pump fuse and turned car over etc...

actually, all i did was let the car sit for about 3 days, I figured it would slowly depressurize to about 1atm. I havent spilled a single drop of fuel yet and I have all openings plastic covered and tie wrapped.

I think ill try your suggestion, Ill just uncrew it enough to let air in/fuel out.

thanks

spray some WD-40 around the injector O-rings at the bottom. Let them soak a few mins and wiggle it as you pull up. They can be stubborn. Good Luck

I recall thinking the same thing when I first pulled the injectors on Code Red. I thought for sure I was going to break something. Now the spark plug wires were a different story - I did break them.

Two of mine stayed in the intake (freaked me out!) and two came with it. They were hard to get out too, but nothing broke.

The O rings are just stuck. The WD-40 is a good idea then use a big screw driver and gently pry the injectors out. If you can find a thin piece of plastic, lay that on the rail to pry against. It Will come out! Good luck!

When they are stuck bad, i usually just squirt some PB blaster or WD40 in on the seals, then they come right out. I am sure any lubricant would work just the same, thats just what i usually have handy. Use ATF on them when you put them back in and they will slide right in. Also i used a brass wire wheel on the fuel rail and it cleaned up very nicely, then i sprayed it black with high temp paint. Looks pretty good.

Powdercoating has to be baked after painting, i just used rattle can high temp paint. I guess if you want to bake it, just install the piece and turn on the engine for awhile

dang, would you belive i broke the tip on one of my injectors. well, with any luck, it was heading downhill. I dont know how the pros get the plastic caps off the tip, but it is not easy perhaps the best way is to use a razor blade and slice it down the middle, watch your fingers!

When you replace the tips, stick the injectors in the freezer for a little while, and heat the pintle caps with a heat gun for a few seconds, smear some atf on the injector and install it. It will click once, then you push it more and it should click the second time and seat. Without the hot/cold/atf thing, you will break pintle cap after pintle cap trying to put those stupid things back on. O'reillys carrys the injector reseal kits on hand at about 2 bucks an injector.
