A friend is purchasing this Boxster http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=4531608403 through Ebay and needs to have it inspected. He has contacted the Phoenix dealer but is wondering if there or any alternative or better shops to have a PPI performed at in the area?

I've driven by it a hundred times. If you are going there, literally accross the street is a shop called Becks. They are Porsche only and respectable. I would opt for that over a Porsche/BMW/Mercedes joint.
