Tire decision? BF Goodrich KDW2 or Kumho MX?
I've narrowed my choice down to the BF Goodrich KDW2 or Kumho MX and would like to know if anyone has used both. They are both the same price from Tire Rack and am trying to gauge which offers the best performance value with longevity being a factor (slightly) over absolute performance as my car is daily driven. I appreciate any and all personal experiences.
I know the Kumhos are not well respected by the track junkies but my car does not see much track time.

The MX's are much better. I've seen those BF's destroyed after one event... they were brand new... I mean they chunked off, exposing cords. It was hideous and they NEEDED replacing.

This is the first I've heard of such issues with the KDWs. Would they still be a problem on a 99.9% street car? How are the MXs on the track.

the MX's are compared to azenis on track. They have a great reputation. For a street car I'm sure the BF's won't be destroyed, but I wouldn't want a tire on my car that cant even stand one event.

How about some Yokos.. The A032R s were among my choices last time I was tire shopping.

I've got the KWD (not KDW2's) on my tricked out Maxima. Great tires. Very quiet, even in a burnout. (Yes, the Max can burn out....) Hold the road like glue.
I've not autocrossed with them, but have more than tested them beyond the limit. I've got 4K on them, and no visible signs of wear. I would buy them again without question.

I have no experience with the Kumhos but if you can get the KDWs for the same price - I'd jump on those. I have tested many different cars with the BFGs and I am impressed.
My experience with Kumho is limited to their rally tire. It is satisfactory for the price.
Anyway - put me down for preferring the KDW.

The KDW2 will give better dry traction and deffinatly better wet traction. They are more predictable and hold up and last longer. To me there is no comparison between the two and I really don't see how anybody is trying to make a comparison between them. I am gernerally disapointed when someone starts to talk bias and thats really the only way I can see the kuhmos getting any votes on here. If they have actually driven on both tires there would be no doubt in there mind between what tires to choose.
