Default Need a Turbo Trans?

I have one that I have had in the classifieds for a while now and I need to sell it. I am asking $450 obo. The tranny is in great condition and shifted very smoothly. It is non LSD. I removed it from a car I parted. I would love for it to be picked up but shipping can be arranged. Please let me know, thanks.

It will fit an 84 but you won't like the 951 gearing on an N/A.

The tranny mount is different on the early cars, it won't be a direct bolt in.

I was under the impression that the later 86+ trans still has the tapped holes for connection to the early side style mounts. It's trying to use an early trans in a later 1-piece mount that won't work. I could be wrong but the 86 951 trans I sold awhile back had the side mounting holes, it was going into an N/A.

for the 84 na---Your looking at Speedo hookup issue and tall gear ratios. Check out the Clarks-garage.com forum now, there is a good thread on the subject.

I have always wondered if it would be possible to Frankenstein an ubber na trans by using na gears in a turbo trans? This would give you a solid ring and pinion.

car_slave:

ubber na tranny is the 944S2 tranny; similar gearing to an na (fifth is taller than the ROW 944na but shorter than the US model 83-87 na) but with strong-like-turbo ring and pinion. If you can't find a 944S2 tranny then the S2 R&P gears in a turbo tranny would be your ubber na transmission.

Deal. Try finding one for under a grand when you need it. I'd buy it like that if I could pick it up.
