I am not a car painter but I lucked out by finding a local guy who paints really well....I asked him "If I do the prep work would he shoot the paint?".....I have some experience at this so I prepped the whole car myself....a few dents and dings were repaired and I wet sanded the car with 600 grit wet/dry paper for about 2 1/2 months....(between cold spells as my garage has no heat).....I just took my time and had patience....I kept asking the paint guy to come over and check my work.....after I was all done he took the car and painted it color and 4 coats of clear.....I let it alone for about a month then "color sanded" it with 1500 and then 2000 grit and then he buffed it.....looks amazing.....and plus I had a hand in it.....
