They are fine in the rear but will not fit in the doors. Just a heads up, you will need a spacer to get the speaker magnet off of the window channel.

Perry - Are these the Polk GXR46 speakers?

Are early and late car doors the same? (With the obvious exception of the door panel)

I'm running the EX series in the rear (and the EX 4" components in the front). I did test fit the 4X6's and they fit fine. Early and late should be the same.

The GXR and DB all appear to have the same magnet depth, so they should fit.

As for the sound.. I don't know of much better in the price range. (I also have my home fitted with Polk loudspeakers).

Yeah, I had some problems with ones that supposedly fit in the front doors. I forget what brand they are. I just left the goofy looking spacer on and put the stock grill over it. I've like to make some kind of cover for the spacer though that kept the car looking more "stock" than the grills that came with the speakers.

If your speaker actually HAS a magnet, it wont fit in the 10-speaker option doors! Those damn speakers are SOOOOOOOOOO SHALLOW!!!!!!! (yes i have gone through the ordeal of purchasing parts and then taking the panels apart...grr....)

I'm looking for some good front speakers, but I've given up the search for 4x6s that fit in the door. I'm just going to get some 5.25"ers and fit some kind of spacer/kickpanel/moulding/whatever it's called. My dad suggested cutting the opening for the speaker in the door panel so that it's a little wider towards the rear of the car, so maybe the magnet can clear the window track but I would tend away from something drastic like that.
