Ok. so when I got the car, the door handle broke after a week and I'd have to climb in thru the passenger door to be able to drive. WELL... I took it to the dealer. they fixed it so the door opened from the outside....Kinda...

After they "fixed" it, you'd have to pull REALLY hard to get the door to open. Well, today, (3 years or so later, no more work warranty) I took a swing at it. I pulled the door apart, cleaned it up, greased everything, but no. no dice. still sucked. I pulled the door handle off, cleaned that up, greased that, still nothing. Then I realized, "Hey, the plastic cup on the end of the actuator is threaded... IT'S ADJUSTABLE!"

so I adjusted it. now, it opens with minimal effort, instead of me grabbing the handle and pulling with all of my might. Take that Porsche dealer...0 points
Me, 1 point.

Then, after the oil "OMG, my oil pan is STILL leaking" chronicles, they didn't tell me about an exhaust leak (Dealership, 0 points)...I'd suspected it, cuz my car was a little louder, but not positive. I put the car up on ramps, went underneath, and well, my collecter was MISSING a bolt. completely gone. I tossed a new one in, and it's fixed too...

Me, 1 more point.

They lernded you gud in skul. When you say the door was hard to open from the outside, do you mean you have to pull the lever really hard for it open, or that it was just frozen up? I ask cuz my doors need to be fully depressed For the latch to work and maybe what you did will fix mine.

Good job! So which way did you adjust the rod for door handle? Did you unscrew the plastic end so the rod was longer?

Danno, that's exactly what I did.

Silverbean, Yes. those are the symptoms. I'd have to use both hands to depress the lever, and pull REALLY hard to open the door

Schmuckle, thanks! I learned that in calculus II.

Ok, obviously, you'll want to remove the door panel. once you get that off, peel back the sound deadening stuff. Once that's peeled back, you'll see a black plate near the top of the opening of the door panel. remove that. then there will be the window rail. there is one bolt on the bottom of the door. remove that, and you have full access... the window rail is a bitch to put the bolt back in tho.
