Power steering hose

I discovered a leak from my power steering fluid tank. It turns out the big hose had a leak under the clamp. I thought I could cut this off and reattach the hose. Unfortunately the hose has a larger end than the rest of the hose and it won't fit. While I am waiting for a new hose, can I just purchase a larger diameter hose (entire lenght) and connect it? Thanks

Not really because the other end is a fair amout smaller and I don't think you could ever squish a big hose down with a clamp to seal. You are facing using a reducer of some sort. And power steering fluid is about as corrosive as brake fluid so you would need the higher rated rubber if you are going to leave it on for long.
It would be cheaper and less screwing around just to have the proper hose air freighted if time is a big factor. Or just let the thing leak a little longer.

If you need something in the meantime, you can buy the smaller hose and the larger hose, and just put a male-male connector of the appropriate size on. 1/2" and 5/8" hose is the size you will need. Actually it is also ATF fluid you need to use and not powersteering fluid. This will work for a temporary solution, but just make sure you get the right hose on there.
