is it better get the car tested when its cool or after driving for a while? I had just gotten back from a 4-5 hour drive when I got the smog test...

Car is best tested hot. High NOx usually means that the catalytic converter is toast.

it measured 1296 and Im pretty sure there is a crack/leak in the pipe right before the catalytic converter... max is 1136 so its only 160 over

also the car doesnt have 2nd gear so he did the test in 1st and 3rd gear

it tested at 1296 at 2796rpm he said he had to rev it high because there wasnt a 2nd gear...
