hmm...judging by the rust on the cam gear and "fact" that it's 0.2 liters bigger than normal...should be able to get it for a coule hundred.

Was the 2.7 available in 82/83 ?
I thought it was much later.

87/88 I believe it was first available.
Hmm, selling an engine that as sat for 22 years, with a cracked cylinder.... would make an interesting paperweight, that's about it.
I can't imagine the cam or crank are any good, nor at least one of the pistons. Maybe the rods are okay?...
I'm sure the cam and crank have rusted to bits by now.
It's sitting on the oil pan, not a good sign...

Jeez, some people.

I want to know how Porsche allowed him to keep that one if they "replaced it under warranty".

For 99 cents? If you were close you might pick it up, for the nuts and bolts if you could get them off. Same with the cam tower and the intake manifold. Thats a LOT of work for a couple of parts though.
