most weight saved on deletes

Check my sig.
I haven't included the weight savings for replacing the factory seats with Momo Rookies, nor replacing the stock exhaust with an SFR unit. If anybody can tell me an accurate weight for factory manual regular seats that will help. And how much a stock NA exhaust weighs. The weights I list are all to the 10th of a pound as recorded using a certified postal scale.
I also still need an accurate weight for a manual rack (rack only) if anybody can help, so I can get a more accurate weight savings number.

As my car is 95% track dedicated (it still has plates on it so I can drive it to the shop), the noise doesn't bother me.....that's why they make earplugs ;-)
I removed the padding underneath the hood as it was flaking away anyway and getting foam all over the engine...made the car much louder, but I don't have to stress over foam falling in my oil filler when adding oil anymore. Combined with the gear whine from the tranny as my pinoin bearing is starting to go away, my car sounds full race - like Hans Stuck in his M3 on that Nurburgring video that's been circulating.
Mike - no need to trade brakes, etc. as I have them cleared for use with Dave D at an approved minimum weight. Now, you're Charley arms....that's another story. I'm sweating the banking at Charlotte on a 5 year old OEM right control arm.... You still planning on doing the NASA school at some point this year? We're really hurting on supercup cars - to the point that I'm thinking of pulling my 968 engine in the fall and "down-grading" to a 2.7 and running as an NA...

Some other things to consider:
1. Hood - a buddy of mine dented the engine hood on his 968 after an off-track excursion at VIR. He replaced it with a carbon fiber hood. It was cheaper than buying a new 968 hood, and was significantly lighter.
2. Rear hatch - replacing the glass with lexan saves a ton of weight. I wouldn't recommend doing this with the windshield since Lexan does scratch and fog pretty quickly.
Oh, and does anyone know the weight difference between trannies? 944 n/a vs. 944S2 vs. 944 Turbo vs. 968? I suspect that the 968 with the 6-speeds is a bit heavier than the rest.

You do realize that stripping your car will only reduce its value and make it less usable, while ading no real value to anybody except an excellent driver in a very competitive race series.
Do your car a favor and leave it stock.

It's all personal preference Peckster. I personally couldn't care less about resale on my car at this point, and frankly somebody like me or Tifo and some others may be inclined to purchase a well sorted lightened "RSed" version of these cars.

please. like our cars have any resale value? i don't think so. my car stock=$5000 (maybe on a good day). my car without weighted material = no real difference. it all depends on what someone is willing to pay. a fully stripped racecar prepped for the right class can bring a nice sum of money. i've seen a sorted n/a go for over $12,000.
let's not overestimate our cars. i love mine, but come on.......
