Not much to it. Pulled outta the drive at my office one night. It was dark. Began my in-flight checklist of air conditioning, stereo, door locks, etc etc. Not a car front of back within a 1/4 mile. Was looking down for a moment running through my checklist and gettin situated and a few hundred yards from the office driveway I clip a big screen TV thats situated caddywompus half in and half out of the lane. Wasnt more than 5 seconds after pulling outta the driveway. I saw it too late to miss it, heard a big THUNK. But its a crap section of town and saved the damage assessment until I got home. Car took it real good. Just broken foglight and a small tiny crack in the front spoiler thats almost unnoticeable.

I also almost ran into a container box the size of a VW Beetle on the highway one night about a year prior to this. Car in front of me dodged it and careemed into the median across all lanes of traffic. Who knows if the box was filled with popcorn or the worlds biggest lead anvil. I wasnt about to roll the dice. Luckily I was already merging from the center lane where the container box was to the right lane in prep for getting off at next exit so I didnt need to pull a Mario Andretti manoeuvre. I missed it by about 6 inches.

I'm also probably going to buy an STi in a couple months. I'm going to wait until I get to Oregon because they don't have sales tax! I drove the crap out of one on a test drive and it is a really neat car. The car simply has power anywhere! The only thing I didn't like was the 6-speed box. I thought it had enough power to work with a 5-speed. That day I also drove an '02 986S and an E-46 M3. I drove my 951 that day and out of all of the cars I had the biggest smile after driving the STi. I'm looking for a daily driver that is fast but I don't have any plans on taking it to the track. (I always spend too much money prepping a car for the track!) The EVO is a little quicker on track but it sounds like it won't make as good as a daily driver. The R32 is down on power and I''ve already owned 4 GTi's. I want something different. An S4 is nice, but I can't afford a new one. And I want a new car with a full warranty. I'd get a new 987, but my wife said 3 Porsches would be rediculous.

fty, you should head down to Deer Park Ave once it starts getting warmer. Always a dozen or so STi's meeting at open parking lots. Not to mention the Evo's, Supras, Spec-V's, occasional Skyline (two i know of in the area)...etc.

You dont need to go to race neccesarily, i just go to see the cars .

I have gone with my buddies who are into cars so to speak. I say that because they know alot of numbers on cars, but when it comes to mechanical knowledge, they know nothing. They buy all these upgrades and end up asking me to help put it in for them. Its funny because they all drive Sentra Spec-V's. I only started really going come November and aside from the packs of STi's and Evo's driving in formation like West Side Story (with turbo's spooling instead of finger snapping) thats all that was out there. Once it gets warmer ill hang around there with my buds to see the sights.

There used to be a great weekly car show at the Sears parking lot in Hicksville. They since moved it around the end of last summer, i have no idea where they moved it to however. I heard the parking lot of Jillians in Huntington, but never saw anyone there. I loved going to those, tons of muscle cars, low riders...everything.

I like UD's better- the surfboard *** and snorkel on the hood SCREAM ricer. My taste, my opinion.

On the Tuner Transformers the ripped all that stuff off, and I applauded.

It is a great car, nontheless. Congrats.

Thx, I kinda like the big surfboard in the back, even though it makes you think theres a car in your blindspot sometimes, I like the squirell snorkel in the front, keeps small animals from the center of the windshield. I does scream rice a bit but hey its factory rice, which I think is a big step from companys like Brospeed and AEM....
