Default New Definition of "Onboard Computer"

So I was working on getting my car running. But I didnt have a laptop handy today, so I decided just to drop my desktop into the hatch... I was/still am having some idle problems, which John was helping me with (thanks I think I ALMOST had it before I stopped for the day due to complaints).

*Rant* Then the neighbors (both across the street and next door) complained about the noise... it was 4pm, wtf?! Anyway, rather than make a big deal out of it, I told them I'd be glad to pack it up but I'd be out there everyday the rest of the week atleast. (Did I complain when they woke me up working on their boat at 10pm? Or when the kids across the street woke me up? NO..... )

Hey, thats pretty good thinking!!! Now may I ask what interface you are using to patch into the cars computer??? I know we are not OBD2, and was not aware that we had a port anywhere for data logging...
Thanks... PS: Neighbors SUCK!

Umm, what noise? Were you playing a CD too loud through the PC or what? I don't get it. They would have had to call the cops on me, especially if I were only tuning my car.

That looks like my computer's case, except mine has a window on the side(Antec Lanboy).

I agree though. 4 in the afternoon? Screw the neighbors, it shouldn't of been any more annoying than the noise from mowing the yard.

Ummm, yeah, were you using air tools or something. I would have called the police on the neighbors and said they needed to be institutionalized. My neighbors have had to put up with ALOT of wrenching, and I haven't heard a complainer yet. Shoot, Andy's out there doing wheelstands on a turboed riding lawn mower, and the neighbor never once complained.....
I am also interested on how you hooked into the cars computer....
Your car is beautiful by the way!

I'm using SMT-6, so it piggybacks off the Bosch Motronic, to the SMT-6, to my computer.

Heh, it was the car being reved up a few times, and me working on the idle which was floating between 950-1500rpm with the Lindsey 3 inch exhaust with no muffler. I figured I'd give em a break today, tomorrow though, HELL NO.

Interesting... I had never heard of the SMT-6 before. It sounds pretty interesting! There is even a dealer right around the corner from my house! Maybe I should go talk to them when I get the car back together. Am I correct to think that this would allow for constant checking and tuning without the need to replace chips and such?

Mike, I have the same case except the side panel on mine is different. Good luck with the tuning.
