Interesting stuff guys.

Still happy I have it, even if its not rare, I will keep the glass until I can afford a 968 CS and want to ditch the rubber bung!

The odd thing is, why didnt Porsche fit these glass to the 968CS anyway? I expect they thought they had better keep the provision for rear wipe, should any CS owners decide to add it later.

Not true. When I say aftermarket, I don't mean the aftermarket you are thinking of that brings us those stupid double decker wings on the backs of Hondas. I'm talking OEM style replacement parts that most insurance companies shop. You end up with things like fenders that might not be as thick of a gauge steel as the actual Porsche fenders, and other things such as that. If you've ever had a car repaired, chances are the autobody guy gave you a choice of either OEM parts, or aftermarket parts, and the aftermarket parts came with lower prices.

I know that for the longest time Erebuni used to make 930 style wings, that looked totally factory minus the script on the rubber surround.

Indeed. So... how much did the hatch glass weigh?

Sounds like the no hole tailgate glasses were quite common in the USA, here in england I have never seen one apart from the CGT ones.

Not sure how much this one weighs. But it seems lighter, and the glass is thinner (can be seen as thinner by eye)

yes, it has a defroster grid. Apart from the absence of a hole, and being thinner glass, its just like a normal 924/944 one
