Default Swepco inferior?

Earlier this week there was a thread about transaxle oil, everyone praised Redline and Swepco was called inferior.

Anyone explain why?

Swepco is still very good oil, but it's dyno based. Redline is synthetic. Synthetic is in all ways superior, although I still wouldn't say Swepco is "bad" oil - it's just more limited and will need to be changed more often.

Empirical data - I changed to swepco from a nearly dry transmission, and performance was worse. Changed to redline, and it got much much better. I have a feeling that's what a lot of people found out.

I've used Swepco for about 18 mos. or so and esp. during the winter didn't notice much difference from the cheap dino that I had in there prev. to Swepco.

After spending $35 for the Swepco I didn't just want to dump it though.
