Default 64 THOUSAND "invested" in a 944?!?!

I know these cars can get expensive with upgrades and repairs, but DAMN!!! I'd have a hard time spending more than about $30-$35K and that includes EVERY mod I can think of that I'd want. . .

Wow what a crappy ad. Condition? Hello?
As for a 944 with money invested, I think I read at one point DFASTEST's car had over $200,000 invested.

I can't believe how little these "big spenders" invest in putting together a decent for sale ad. No engine pics, no real data as far as what you get for $35K, one **** poor shot of the interior, it is nice to know that I do a better job when I am trying to sell off an unwanted $400 parts car.

I shouldn't put that on here - but I don't like Raines. He is a wiseass on the phone, but he'd be looking down at his shoes if I was in his office, like Jackie Gleason - humena humena humena

Before I clicked on the ad I was thinking Kelly-Moss would have no problems coming up with $60k worth up "upgrades" for a 951 if they had a customer with money. What do I see in the ad? Road America in the background, and the car is in Wisconsin, about 90 miles away from K-Moss headquarters.

No mention of K-Moss in the ad (did't read the whole thing) so I'm probably wrong.

Am I missing something?
What exactly makes this car worth more than $12K? I see nothing particularly special here.

I'll be listing mine shortly for half that price. 135k, Sparco Evo 2's, Leda Coil overs, OG Racing rollbar.

It's HALF PRICE people!!!! Only $17k for all that!!!!

No responses? Huh, I wonder why?

That car's worth $18-20k on a very good day.

That guy must have been paying about 200% of normal prices for the mods he's done if he's got over 60K into that car. The numbers don't seem to add up to me...

I know of a 951S that is track prepped for $34k. The ebay car doesn't even come close to it.

On a good day, maybe that car's worth $20k. Maybe.

$60k invested means nothing in my book. What about the wear and tear done to the car on the track? I wonder if the seller wishes to divulge that!?! Then the ad would read more like this:
- New O-ring and Wide-fire head gasket 'cause I blew out the original from bouncing off the rev-limiter for 20 minutes at a time.
- New Rod bearings 'cause I spun the #2 due to oil starvation
- New Water Pump cause the last one blew out on the back straight of RA.
- New Billet Charlie A-arms cause the originals experienced a catastrophic failure in T3 at RA...

and so on...

Track cars are abused alot. I know - I have one. Saying that you have $60k invested, and not stating what you've done with the car (which is obvious based on the picutres) only shows half the story, IMHO.

Is it just me, or isnt it better to spend the money and build the car yourself? The way YOU want it? Instead of trusting someone elses judgement and technical expertise? I was just checking in the local autotrader, there are currently 6 951's for under $13k...

Actually, no. It is far more cost effective to buy someone else's track toy that they've grown tired of. You NEVER gain back what you invest in such a car, as is the case even in that ebay car.
