Need to sell this car...will let it go for 2000 obo...needs transaxle...new red paint, interior is clean, but dash is cracked...i want to sell as is

Car ran GREAT before the tranny problem..i did a full tune up on ...damn its expnsive..lol...car handles great....
The only problem i thought i had with the car was the temp gauge reading hot,
but the car never overheated so i believe it to just be something electrical..
replaced the thrermostat
fan switch
rear shocks
shift boot
500watt amp 2/10's
stereo was stolen
bostons all the way around (speakers)
have new drivers seat belt, current one is frayed
new emblem for the hood...someone stole the one that was on it.
2 new front tires..
Has the cookie cutter rims.

needs a new catalytic converter for it to pass smog, It did pass when i bought it..i bought it almost a year ago..

Reason for selling.....I just had a baby boy and i dont have the money to put towards the tranny (I WANT TO) but just cant do it.

IF interested and want pictures just email me at:
non_fiction25@hotmail.com

Thank you guys for reading this.
would make a great project car, but nice enough to use as a daily driver.

David
Located about an hour and half from sacramento..

Sorry, not to be too critical but I think you are way overpriced with the description you give; needing a trans, cat, and paint adds up real fast and I can buy $2K 84's that run decent nearly every time I open the newspaper or craigslist.com.

Yeah - not to bust your bubble, but there's a rennlist member here selling his 83 that runs and has only a small starter problem for $1800. You may wanna rethink your price.

Let me get this straight, it _has_ new red paint, or it _needs_ new paint?

I think that's a point of some confusion here.

The only way you will get 2k for that car is to sell it to somebody that does not know anything about 944's

With a bad tranny you have a $1000 car.. $1500 if your lucky. Pre 85.5's in good running condition go between 2 and 4k. By the time somebody does the tranny work and replaces the cat they would have spent more than the car is worth. Try ebay or your local trader. Good Luck

If you really want to get 2K for it, may I suggest you find a good used tranny for $500 -$600, and install it yourself. Then you have a shot at selling the car for $2,500... Otherwise, I don't think you're being realisitic. The majority of people on this list know what the options are for a 944 tranny. If you try to sell elsewhere, I suspect non-Porsche people will be frightened away from a car needing a tranny. But, hey, try e-bay...
