Hey guys,
I'm in the process of rebuilding my 944t engine. I just got it torn down and everything looks reasonable. My question is what could I do to add hp without spending a ton of money. It has a mass airflow/chip kit now, looking for a little more. thanks, JimV

You are using the word rebuild...that emplies nothing cheap ![Wink](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
And one man's cheap is another man's Porsche.
FPR
Injectors
Exhaust
Turbo
Those are just some ideas.

Wastegate would be a nice addition, the stock one is most likely shot as most are and rolls the boost on slow. A good flowing exhaust will help too. Also an electronic boost controller. You have already cleaned up the intake with the MAF. Next would be turbo. I have a custom free flowing intake, a 3 inch exhaust and a custom fitted Audi dual port wastegate. The car performs quite well, boost comes on a bit quicker than stock as well. Good luck

shmucklebuckle thanks! It looks like theres a lot of talent on this board
Peckster, I'm rebuilding for a couple of reasons. It's a high milage car. I had the head off a couple of years ago and saw some mild scoring in the bores. The leakdown was fair but the biggest problem is when I chasis dynoed I noticed oil spewing out of everywhere plus I have a problem taking out cam housing gaskets. I vented the cam housing and bandaded the problem. Im' guessing the rings are leaking causing blowby
Joseph mitro, I did mildly port the head although there's not much you can do in the exhaust side due the the rock hard ports. Is that an insert or a coating in the exhaust port? Is there anyway around it? Port and recoat?
Porsche-o-phile, At first I was thinking around 400hp. After I got the motor out and realized what a project it was I lowered my sites. What a pain. I don't have a lot of time/money maintaining

you want 400 at the wheels? talk to john vitesse... Fast951 on rennlist, he'll sell you his stage 3 for about 3500 bucks... of course you still have to do injectors etc.... or you can go your own route, wg, turbo, etc etc...
