Default Need old speed/reference sensors

Many of you probably saw my thread about my car not starting, and it was due to the connectors breaking off the ends of the wires on the sensors from it being so cold. I dont really want to splice these connections togethere because it would make it more difficult to change the sensors in the event i had to change them at a later time.

So long story short, I need two sensors, doesnt matter if they work or not becuaes im going to just be cutting the ends off of them for the connections. I hope that all made sense.. If it needs more explaining ill be happy too. But if anyone has an old set of these connections, that would be GREAT. I dont have much money to buy them from you (poor teenager), but anyone willing to give them away really cheap would be much appreciated. Thanks guys.

Is is any of these that you need? http://www.eagleday.com/ampconnectors.html They were looking to see if they could get the male end for me. I have contacted them and I need to get back to them about the 3 pole connector for the sensors as well. Mine cracked too.

Jeff,

Well, considering that new sensors can run $125 or more and that used ones are about $75 if yours is working but the terminal is broken why not spend the 20 or so $'s and replace them.

Jeff,

Yes, replacing just the terminals liiks to be far less than new complete sensors. NP on the link. I found it in the 928 forum a couple of weeks ago.

There have to be a few people out there that have gapped them wrong, and have mushroomed the end of the sensor, or something like that....
Perhaps call a wrecker for a few broken ones?

Yeah, but does it really make since for me to replace a perfectly good sensor when the only thing wrong is the clip.. and remember, it hapened to both clips, so thats a 180 dollar repair for no reason at all. Is there any harm in just cutting the wires and splicing them?

Okay, technically you can just splice them, but as you said, it will give you some grief if you have to do a clutch job, or are trying to swap out sensors to see if they're not working.

Jeff,
Let me check I might have two of them for you. Another Rennlister did me the same favor awhile back and I ended up finding a pair in my Mystery Shed before his arrived. The rectangular connectors aren't perfect but the wires are attached solid. Am I right to assume it's the plug in part you need where the male/female connects at the bracket? If you want, I can have them in the mail tomorrow. You can pay for faster mail if you like, I'll cover any 1st class USPS. Let me know...I have no idea if the sensors are good or not if that matters.

Hey Steve, That would be great, The problem is i cant get that Male connector part, but i could just use the male part and splice the wires together on the sensor side (if that made any since) So if the connectors work that would be amazing. I can paypal you the money tonight if youd like. Thanks so much!

Jeff,
I forget which side is the male (drivers side?)...here's my temporary repair to hold mine together after breking a connector...nothing finer than Ty-Raps pulling on Ty-Raps. How much of the sensor side harness do you need just in case I cut off a sensor to make a .8mm gauge out of it?

Steve
