Has anybody used this model tire for autocrossing? I am considering it because of the ability to still street drive with the tire as well as autocross/DE.
Thanks for any feedback.

I dont autox but have these tires. For the price ($82 rear, $73 front) at tire rack I thought they were a good buy even though there are much higher performing tires out there. I'm happy with them so far.

I have ES100 on my Spyder. Dunno if this reflects on the tire, but if I "get on the gas" there will be significant wheelspin in 1st and 2nd gears. They seem like a good street tire, but I'm not convinced they're better than Kumho Ecsta 712s or Sumitomo HTRZ-II (same price range).
For auto-X, you might consider Falken Azenis. These are said to have tenacious grip, and can be used on the street (although they'll suck in the wet).

I used them as a dual purpose street/track tire on my old MR2 (which basically had a full track suspension) and they are excellent bang for the buck. They held up very well to track use and stuck very well wet and dry.

WOW, I had these on my SVTF and they lasted a whopping 8k miles before they were practically destroyed. And that was with street driving only, I cant even begin to imagine what they would do at a track.

I have gone through two sets of them now. I'm getting HORRIBLE mileage out of them (around 14k or so). I will not be buying them again even though I am generally a happy Yokohama customer and have been for about 6 years with about 6 sets on various cars/SUV). I'll probably buy the Fuzion tires soon to replace my bald Yoks.

Jason,
I wish you could have had the chance to drive my 951 before the weather got bad, and I could show you fitst hand why I don't care for them.
I might just be spoiled from the Dunlops I had on the car before, but the sidewalls on the Yokos seemed so much more flimsy, and on turn in, there is a definite "delay time" before the car bites and turns. I won't be buying them again, either.

I've got the ES100s and have used them for autoX and, in a pinch, for DE. I wouldn't reccomend them for either as they don't compare to high-buck street tires let alone competition tires.

The es100 is a very good tire for the money.

Decent tire, but like others, they are wearing down WAY too quickly, sucks....
oh well, another $400 bucks down the drain. I like the dunlops I have on the 16" rims better, and i have driven on a few different kinds of tires that I really liked alot more. I especially like the falkens. No more yokos for me!
