Which speakers are you using? are you happy with the base and sound quality?

What modifications did you do for those that went over the stock 4x6 size?

TIA

I use Audiobahn as64pq plate speakers with a high/low crossover. They work very well for the electronic music I listen to. For the incredibly small woofer size, they have decent bass response. A sub is neccessary though and i plan to add an 8" sometime in the future,

I guess I should just tell u my whole system.. 200 Watt sony head unit running 4 VisonIK 120 watt 4X6 Model #V4602DS Sound awsome Poor base though but I have the following to make up for it (tweeter sticks out to far to place on stock front covers) two thousand watt amps. Running 4X VisonIK 400W 6X9 speakers Model # V629A sound even better look awsome to.. to bad I have to put them in boxes and two KICKER 10" 450 watt subs

Is this a bit extreme???

I have two 5x7s that I bought at PepBoys for $40 they fit perfectly in the stock holes and sound great for the money. Other than the red cone seen through the stock grill, you would not be able to see they were swapped.
I dont know why people have such a difficult time getting speakers in their doors

I have Boston rx 97 6x9 3 way's in teh back, and they are amazing.. Great bass , almost takes teh place of a woofer. I made mounts and cut the carpet so that they face up from the rear wheel wells. I have boston 2 way i believe plate speakers in teh front.. they sound great and for 4x6's and actually have good bass. A little too much, I think I need a bass blocker for them because when I crank it the fronts distort a little from teh bass.

My car boasts the original factory stock speakers front and back, with the original (or just an old) Blaupunkt deck. The volume **** on the deck is worn out so just the slightest touch will cause mad crackling from the speakers. Oh, and my left rear speaker is broken.

I just turn it on to high volume and never touch the volume again. Then I use one of those CD-player car adapters that look like cassettes with wires, to plug in my friend's iPod and I use the iPod's volume adjustment. Oh yeah baby.

I have two projects starting next week... Carbon fiber nose piece with integrated intake vent. AND replacement door panels with smoother lines and pods for bigger speakers in CF... Pics will be posted as progress happens.
