My copilot isn't the best photographer, but it's better than I could have done while trying to steer.

Same with me and my dad's 951S....

Every day, I'm reminded how bloody fast his car is. Last time at the race track, He was reminded who's tires are better, as I'd leave him behind in the corners, and he'd catch up on the straights....

then I botched a turn...I was able to keep up after that... He was needless to say, shocked.

Congratulations on the success!

Plus, those pics make we want to move! Those look like some nice roads...and no snow!

Yeah, I know what I'm doing on weekends with no homework!

Geoff - what kind of tires do you use, and how much did they cost? I'll need new tires real soon, and while I'd like sporty tires I am after all almost broke after fixing this car.

I'm using BF Goodrich G-Force FX. Not too sure on the size, let me get back to you on that. All I know is they have a smaller aspect ratio and my speedometer is off because of it. Generally, it's off by 5 MPH at highway speeds. They are by far the BEST tire I've used on or off the track, after 4 sets on this car (including snow tires). They are VERY sticky when warm, and they aren't wearing very fast like many people on Tire Rack have claimed. I've done about 6 DE/Track days on them, as well as a full summer of driving, and they're not even 1/4 worn!

I'm very pleased with these tires. I'll get a price and size shortly.

FR, I'm using 225-50-15's on my 15x7 wheels.

These tires are phenominal and are $143.00 each at Tire Rack.

Here's the Link

People also claim that they are noisy, but after driving with my snows (not studded) They are quiet as hell. I hear the exhaust WAY before I hear the tire.

Thanks Porschephile, sounds like I got my first candidate for tires. I've always dealt with prices like $70 each for tires, but then again I've always dealt with my old benz 300D. I suppose now it's a whole new ballgame and I should expect to cough up more dough for tires. Right now it has OLD Yokohama tires, I don't remember offhand what type, they handle pretty well.

Please excuse my ignorance, I know nothing about tires. What is aspect ratio? Also, my mom's 944 has larger tires on the rear wheels, is this good?
