Default Brakes

I am a spirted driver. I hope to do some autocrosses maybe next season. I don't know what are good brakes on these cars. I was looking at the Mintex Pads. Are they any good? Also what about rotors? Is anything from Pelican parts good or what?

some metalmasters work well for the n/a...paragon sells 'em. rotors wise...there's nothing really you can do besides get cross-drilled or stock. both work the same. cross-drilled just looks better.

Get new stock rotors...you can find them as cheap as 80 a pair. Vertex auto I think.

Lots of good race pads...mintex c-tech, hawk blue, pagid. Im curious about the "ultimate" pads paragon carries for 40 bucks. Emailed Skip and waiting for an answer.

Well...the PBR ultimate pads are probably the best performance for the buck @ $40. But they are louder, dust more, and decrease rotor life. Definitely my next pad. Cant have your cake and eat it.

I have Porterfield brake pads on my Fiance's 924 S and they are outstanding on the street and the track. Stock rotors are the way to go, they are cheaper. But the X-drilled certainly look way cooler if you ask me. Let me know if I can help you find these parts, PM me with questions. Best wishes - Jay

rennlist member Duke was running on Mintex pads on the track once (i am currently using them on my daily driven car as well) and they faded on track. He also had spatks shooting out when the pads (metal by this time) were stopping the disks.........

Paragon has a nice set of Ultimate pads that im keen on trying..........Hawk HP+ are super (according to many rennlisters who track their cars) but they 'eat' the rotors, that is what they say....

Mintex is great for the street though.........
