Battery - Again

Listen to Kevin...find an Interstate dealer and get a battery.
And while you are there pick up a trickle charger with overcharge protection.
Think they are around $45.
My Interstate has been in my car for probably 6 years. It's gotten very low on charge several
times before I got the trickle charger last year. Hasn't missed a beat since.
Being in PA, the car sits pretty much the whole winter.
Do start it occasionally and also take it for a spin if the weather permits.

Found an in-stock Interstate Battery at the local Firestone dealer - $100 Yikes! Oh well, gotta have it. I spoke to the Firestone manager about the chargers and he did not seem to like them. He indicated that there was too much danger of overcharging and boiling out the water (or boiling it away in the case of maintenance free battery cases). The one I have is setup to be connected all the time, which bothers me somewhat because I don't want an electrical cord always connected to the car.
I think what I will do is buy a cut off switch, install it AND the battery tender. Then use the cut off switch when ever I know I'm not likely to use the car for several weeks and run the charger the night before I plan on taking Code Red out.

If I recall, they have a unit that fits in the box, but you have to change cables or something to make it work. Someone correct me on this if I'm wrong. I looked at the optima units but the positive and negative terminals were switched (which would account for a cable change to use).
