Default 968 items on the 944

I know a lot of people add 968 mirrors onto their 944s to give them a more modern look, but I also wanted to know if you could add 968 door handles on with ease? (I say with ease because with enough time and money anything can be done...)

I know that several people have also done the 968 handle update. Should come up with a search, and one vendor that I know that carries them is 944online.com. I think they look awesome. Pretty sure it is not that difficult to change them out, but they are expensive.

If you want to buy the handles, the cheapest seller is Sunset Porsche (http://www.sunsetporsche.com/)

And yes they work, although I haven't done them myself. My only fear is that so many 944 users will have purchased the 968 handles that if the handles on my 968 ever break, there will be none left.

I wouldn't lose any sleep over it...you'll always find them if you look hard enough! And from what I understand the design is alot better so that they won't break...I know when I had my 83 I went to get in my car after work one day and the little trigger broke off...well keep in mind this was a high mileage car with 25+ year old VW door handle technology.
I've considered doing the 968 handle changeup, but I'm a little too attached to my Porsche-inscribed handles on my 86...

I have 968 handles and mirrors to come next week. I started a thread on parts from other cars that fit the 944 on the turbo forum... the handles are a direct fit, talk to Jeff at Sunset if you live in the US. Fitting is a piece of cake.

15 minutes per side tops. 30 will get all the tools back in the box. Of course, you might say I'm rather experienced in this procedure.

Actually, set aside about 2 to 3 hours for side one and about 30 minutes for side two. After that see the times posted above.

They aren't asthetic, but many guys also upgrade to 968 castor blocks for the front control arms. They put up with higher loads better than 944 parts, and are recommended by Porsche for running 17" rims or larger.

Anyone know the place with the best price on these?
