Are you sure the tach isn't bouncing?
It just hops a little bit when you're cranking, nothing big.
If you are 100% sure that it does NOT bounce, then check your reference sensor.

Fix the spark problem first. Forget about the fuel if you are not getting spark. I assume you have the later model 944 with a DME relay. Make sure you are testing the right relay since I believe there are more than 2 connections. If that is working, then you will want to try the speed/reference sensors. See if someone near you have one you can try out.

Good news, I decided after reading the most recent posts to check the speed and reference sensors. I printed the guide out from clarks garage only to find out that the sensors came unplugged! I plugged them back in and it started right up. Who would have thought that they came unplugged. Well, I really appreciate everyones help. Where would i be without rennlist.
