I just gotta butt in here.

Having PET in .PDF format does not make any sense.

PET is a DATA BASE program that lets you look up parts and stuff. (Major revelation: VW and AUDI dealers have their own versions with custom data bases.)

Adobe's Acrobat is for DOCUMENTS, which get looked at, maybe edited, and then printed.

And I am and IT type, among other things.

Agreed, what good would PET be in a pdf format? The way my legal PET ver. 6.03 works is a true DB application; PET in pdf would be about as cumbersome as the CD Workshop Manuals in pdf (i.e. page to page searches, non-linear page correlation with the index, etc).
