Well, IIRC the 996 twists were not raised in the middles such as those on the boxster. the ones that appear in this auction have the raised section.
Also, I remember when i worked at the Porsche dealer, I was looking at a boxster I was prepping for delivery that had those wheels on, and I commented on how f*cking ugly they looked.

I have an 87 na, isn't that the first year of the wider track? Did you have any rubbing in the rear wheel wells?
They definately look good on your car!

Bluesky4x4,
I didn't have any rubbing problems on the rears, I left the original spacer on + the 1.5" aftermarket wheel adaptor. No rubbing on inner or outer gaurds.
You probably wont need the spacers on an '87 car. There is some good wheel/spacer dimension info at

I had to buy an additional set of lug nuts to fit the wheel adaptors so I used the black ones for that purpose and used some silver painted ones for the wheels, you're right black will not look good on the wheels.
regards
Peter

Make sure they're authentic - I've heard of craking and breaking with the look-a-likes. True Porsche wheels usually go for more than this price.

You are both right, they came on Boxsters and 996s. The ones in the picture are from a 996 (9" rear wheel is only for 996, 8.5 is the rear for the Boxster). Aside from the rear wheel width there is no difference between the 996 and Boxster wheel. BTW, they are commonly referred to as Boxster Twists.
The 7" front is mutual to both models.
