Add me to the list of people who can't wait for this game to come out. This games looks so good I might even consider buying it rather than just renting/ripping it.
Those of you debating purchase of an xbox, think it over no longer. Used/refurbed boxes are down around $130-140. You can have it modded for $50-80. Install whatever size HD you choose (I have a 250GB in mine, now they cost about $100 or less) and when you're done you have a system capable of saving over 100 xbox games, thousands of emulated games, all your music, pictures, or downloaded movies... I use my hacked xbox nearly everyday, mostly to play my divx movies in HD and surround sound. And gameplay is SO much better on an xbox than even the snazziest PC. The software is designed to be optimum for the (impressive) hardware, no compromises.
If you haven't looked into hacked xboxes, you owe it to yourself. Read up on www.xbox-scene.com and the forums there. If you want some help, PM me and I can give you more info on whatever you want.

i really like gran turismo, but i might have to get an xbox, because the whole "RUF is it's own company, these aren't porsche rip-offs" argument always bugged me. For people saying that GT doesn't have porsches and lambos and such because EA has "exclusive" rights to them on the PS2, I suppose you never played the "Le Mans 24 Hours" game that was FULL of porsches...and came out on the PS2.
I'm sure there are others, but well, I'm not buying their arguments.
I have to disagree with TarHeel about the physics in NFS Porsche Unleashed...I've not ever been impressed with any other game's handling of the huge differences in "road feel" between the modern 911, the 944s, the 914s, the old 911s (especially the 2.7RS), and the various flavors of 356s.
Most games (Project Gotham2 is the only one I know of with a large collection of disparate Porsches ATM) don't realistically portray that "floaty" feeling of the old cars. People who haven't driven a 356 don't understand how 70mph can feel truly fast, and how exciting it is in those cars. Somehow, Porsche Unleased did a good, no great, job of getting that feeling across.
And it had relatively realistic damage. And a used car market. It was and probably still is my favorite racing game ever...even with the graphics being as dated as they are now.
It still looks pretty decent at 1600x1200, though...and it is SUPER fast on modern computers, of course.
(i'm talking about the PC version, BTW...)

I played the game yesterday at toys r' us. It was fun, but I hated that i couldn't turn when i stepped on the brakes. Graphics are gorgeous. Can't comment on the 951 as you couldn't choose it in the demo. I used a gt3 and teh g/f used a viper...the damage is pretty good, about as good as porsche unleashed. Thinking about getting an xbox just so i can race a 951...:P

Forza is going to rock... that is a fact. The only thing I'm worried about is the physics. PGR2 has perfect gaming physics in my opinion.. not too realistic where it becomes a job to play it.. and not too arcadey where you don't have to brake or turn at specific times to get good lap times - it's really the perfect driving game. If FORZA doesn't go too much on the simulation side... it's going to be awesome. Seeya all on XBOX Live, my gamertag on there is OperatorS. Everyone should have an XBOX,it costs 10 times less than a nice PC and is just as fun for gaming

Problem with hacking it like that is that Microsoft would prolly **** a brick about it, because youd be stepping on their XBox foot and their PC foot all at once.
Shouldnt be THAT hard to do though, since all an XBox is is a Celeron 700 with a custom motherboard and a good video card. At its heart its just a little PC.

Check out http://www.emulator-zone.com/doc.php/xbox/ I don't have an x-box so can't try out the compatabilty of games with any of these.
Have fun!

Has anyone watched any of the video clips on the ForzaCentral forum? The sound effects sound incredibly electronic and fake. As if they never tried to sample the exhaust note from the real cars. Maybe its just the low quality of the sample videos... but I watched a video of a GT3 and it sounded like a 4 cylinder vacuum cleaner.
