Default Thank you for all the help getting my car reday for paint...

I just wanted to send off a thank you to those who have helped me over the past couple weeks. It seemed like every time I thought I was making some progress, I would find another area I didnt understand.
As of about 6pm today, my car is completely prepped and reday to go to the paint booth tomorrow.
I can honestly say that with the few cars I have previously done this to, the Porsche is without a doubt the most difficult. Its not that I had a rough car to begin with, but I was VERY particular about how I want the finish product to look. And there are ALOT or pieces to take off the car and prep individually.
I did the search for this topic and found alot of general information, but no true instructions or guides for prepping the Porsche 944 for paint.
SO, I have been taking notes, taking ALOT of pictures along the way and I will prepare a full and detailed How-to over the next couple days.
I will tell you this... I am not so sure that the time involved, the cost of materials involved, and the headache is going to be worth the $1500 I was quoted for a shop to do the prep.
If Iever consider doing this again, I will think twice. In looking at receipts, I feel I spent approximately $500 on materials. I logged over 50 hours of labor, and another 4-5 in gathering materials (and another 2-3 here getting help)
Thanks again, and I will post the guide soon...
Terry

Damn... I'm looking to prep and re-spray the 924S shortly... most likely over the summer. I got sick of my Gaurds Pink hood finally...and any more buffing and i'm into the factory primer. Glad to hear what sort of cost/labor I'm looking into, but then again, Terry, think of the cost of having it professionally done...I was quoted $5000.00 for a propper respray, with propper preparation, etc. for 1/10 the cost, I'll put up with it.

I'll be looking foward to your "how to" write up on this, as I'm going to do it myself shortly. Thanks!
