How does one remove the scratches on the rims?
You know, the 'lips' of the rim(s) have some scratches, how to remove them? i saw someone using sand paper and some chemical to remove it?????

It depends on how deep the scratches are and what you want out of the finished product. I just re-finished a set of phone dials last week. The rim of each of my wheels was scratched, but not bad. I cleaned them, sanded them with 400 emery cloth, then worked up to 1000 wet sand paper. I then cleaned them all again, chemically cleaned them, sprayed a primer/sealer coat, then painted them, then sprayed them with a clear coat. Then let them sit for 5 days under heat lamps.
But they look better than new...

If they're cast and powdercoated wheels, you can send them to a refinisher that has access to a foundry and powder coating.
I pay €26 each way from Barcelona to Bilbao to ship a wheel to Bilbao for this service. It costs around €60 per wheel, but they come back brand spanking new.

Luis: Your lucky, im not.........to repaint the wheels (painting not powder coating) costs ~$90/wheel....JUST paint w/o removing scratches
Damn, no wheel refurbisher's here at all........but i found a metal painting company that have powder coating service (a future upgrade )
Anyways, after 2 hours i would be passing by Ace Hardware, what should i pick up??? are the 'tools' expensive?

Are your wheels cast or forged? Powder coated or polished?
If they're cast and powder coated or painted, you need to strip the finish with aircraft paint remover, sand them down with different grades of sandpaper until they're smooth again.
Then apply the new finish and preferably have them baked, or the paint may come off when the wheels heat up under use.

These are the stock 16x7 and 16x9 Fuchs...........those 'lips' are from the factory and not polished, coated or anything.........

Yikes. Fuchs should not be sanded. They have a machine polished lip with very fine lines that cannot be reproduced by hand and must be clear coated. The centers are anodized. You need a professional refinisher to make them look new again.
Depending on your budget, some refinishers work on an exchange basis. You basically buy a set from them and send in your cores, or you can buy a set outright.
If you know of someone traveling to the U.S. or the U.K., perhaps they could bring back a set for you as luggage. They would be in 2 boxes, with 2 wheels per box. My kid brother brought my Cup 1s to Spain from the U.S. that way.

Just did a quick search, a refurbished fuchs wheel (painted and restored) costs $250 EACH, so that's $1,000 and i still need to pay for shipping (thinking $200+) and then re-send mine ($200+)..........
There should be a way, metal is metal (a small j/k there)............
