It's an early car for sure, I think it's an 83 (E in the VIN).

However, the puzzling part, is that it's stamped stuttgart, on a sticker I've never seen before, along with the importer's name.

Is that a factory sticker?

As a euro car, I think it will easily fetch what the buy it now price is. I tried to verify the mileage on autocheck, but it tells me the vin # is invalid.

Look at the bumpers, it is a euro, if that hasn't been replaced, the VIN would tend to tell me it is. 944's were made in 2 places that I was aware of.

Brake fluid res' doesn't have the signal wires, my US 83 that plate is log and rectangular not close to square. Front side markers are different too, in top left and top right you can see the behind wheel lamps. And take a battery with you as it is missing one. It would be interesting to know what the interior looks like and what option codes he has on it. Air box looks different too as it has a upward slope to the rear I guess it could be the photo though too.

That bumper is hot. Its definitely a euro model...look at the sidemarkers behind the front wheel wells.

Euro things always look better dangit...
I have been trying for years to find a nice set of early euro headlights for my 82 mercedes wagon...

I've heard the ricerocket fiends are always trying to make their cars japanese-spec and that in japan the ricerocketers there are always trying to make their cars US-spec. WTF? Why don't all our ricerocketers go to Japan (good ridance) and all the Japanese rice rocketers come here? I won't notice the difference, they all speak a language foreign to me anyway - "DUUUDE I fu**in smoked yoo DAWG! I was all like 'WAAAA', 'SKIIIIIIR', and you were all 'oh snap', and I schooled yo ***! My **** is STUPID fast dude."... sigh

It kinda seems like it was a Euro, brought to US spec. Apart from the front bumper, the fenders hanve the euro sidemarkers...but then on the sides of the front valence there are strange looking rectangular sidemarkers...AND, the rear bumper is US spec...WTF??
I have a feeling the exterior would be rough...I would just yoink the euro parts and part it out...and btw: WTF does "MOTOR TURNS OVER NICELY BUT DIDNT START" mean?

I wish that the pics were better. I see that Todd it the current high bidder .

I haven't seen many 83's with power steering. Could be a late 83?

A vin number would settle the euro vs. US debate. The front bumper could have simply been added, along with the fender side marker lights. The rear quarters have side marker lights, but the photos are so bad I can't tell if they were added on or are factory.

Timing belt is probably broken, they crank real well with no drag on the belt

The 'Stuttgart' sticker is placed on a EURO when it is brought in and 'Federalized'. In this case - by Don Rosen Cydsala in Cynwyd, PA.
Sticker clearly shows 6/94 as date of mfg.

Well, he does mention that the fuel line had been cut, perhaps that's why it doesn't start?...

The VIN is visible in one of the pictures, but I ran it on autocheck, and it says it's invalid.

That car has rust damage - it's worthless.

It has a (presumeably) good engine, decent set of cookie cutters, and could probably be parted for more than the buy it now price.
It's not worth keeping, but might be worth parting.
I didn't know it had been up a few times, I've never seen it before.
