Default Look what I drove this past weekend!!

Hey guys I drove the 993 TT in the picture below this weekend. It has a highly modified engine, turbo, and suspension. The owner guesses it puts out about 470hp. It was incredibly fast but very difficult for me to drive. It has a clutch that is either on or off. I must have stalled it at least 10 times trying to leave from stops.

I also sold my 944 last week to a guy in PA.

Here is me saying goodbye

Here's what I replaced it with

I'll probably be in the market for a 944 turbo in red or black in a couple of years.

Thanks for all of your help over the past two years.

Thanks,

Mickey

I just love the look of that Turbo, especially in black. One of these days when I've outgrown my 944S I'd love to look into getting one.
I'm not particularly found of boxters but that one looks good in red, especially the front view. Good luck with it.

Uhm, a heavliy modified 993 should have a lot more than 470 hp.. But htey are nice cars. I had the pleasure of driving Viperbobs 650 hp 993tt in December and I have to admit that I stalled it a few times as well.

I think the owner of the 993tt bought some of his parts from Viper Bob. They post in the same forum.

I think you're right about the HP. Maybe he meant 470 at the rear wheels. I would think with chips, induction and exhaust work he could get an extra 70 hp. I'll have to ask him about that.

Mickey,

Good luck with your new ride. You sure did a nice job on your S2, which explains the obvious bond expressed on your pic. Derek's TT is a hoot, huh? It's the poster child for our www.nationalroadrally.com web site Hope to see you out at Chesapeake events this year. You'll be getting some promo stuff on CC36 soon!

Hey Dave!

How's it going? Long time no talk to. I was wondering, "Who is Dave?"

The car I drove belongs to another guy not Derek but its the same thing. I have to get this guy out to an autocross early this Spring.

I'm sure you've found that this website has everything you'll ever need to know about 944s. I'll probably still read the posts here for entertainment. Plus I hope to get another nice 944 down the road. I'm going to start playing the lottery next week.

I hope to see you in the Spring.

Mickey

All good, Mickey. My bad for not getting out to more Chesapeake stuff. My knees really went south on me this year and I'm now recuperating from having knee replacement surgery on the troublesome left unit over the Holidays. Doc installed a very nice aftermarket part and gave me a little negative camber while he was at it Hint to friends: Treat your knees well, because replacement (albeit miraculous technology) is serious surgery that really, really hurts...first from surgical pain and then the rehab. I was one of those non-attentive wellness people that carries too much weight and never paid attention to the need for orthodics etc and the price I'm paying is two arthritic knees...like bad ball joints you gotta put in the whole control arm to fix the joint

It was also my plan just 4 weeks ago to buy an early Boxster but then I heard about engine problems so I wanted a newer model, then I wanted a little manufacturers warranty and a couple more options and before I knew it I was so close in price to the S that it just made sense to get it. Its easy to start with one plan and then move away from it. I drove all three (2.5, 2.7, and 3.2) and I would have been happy with any of them.

I just can't wait till Spring to put the top down and to autocross it and take it to the track.

I wish I could have kept my 944 but then I would have 5 cars and a 2 car garage. Plus gold wasn't my favorite color. If you can keep your 944, keep it. Its a classic and where I live you don't see many. Maybe in a few years.

It's not just where you live. They seem to be getting more and more scarce to come by.
