Please let the congressional record reflect Z-Man was actually quoting Rich and not myself. I reserve the right to revise and extend my remarks henceforth and yield the balance of my time to the distinguished gentleman from Vancouver.

I thought I read somewhere that out of the 1251 944 Turbos produced in 1990, 144 were imported to the US...

Been following the series
What I got from the 'only 300hp' thing was

They could have produced more hp at the wheels with the chip and mods but they had to dial it down. They probably were losing drivablility or smoothness. It is hard to tell from the article but I think they were setting it up for quality of ride as well.

I would also have the congressional record note that Z-Man has edited his original post. It now looks as if my Z-Man comment is in error. In parrallel with UDPride, I reserve the right to maintain the apperance of intellectual relyability unedited by the distinguished gentelman from

.......huh, what did I just say?

UDPride & Bill:
Indeed I have edited my posts above (and I indicated such in a previous thread.)
Therefore, I believe now that my words & quotes are proper, and my t's are crossed and my i's are dotted, the planets may resume their path to being properly aligned.

Warmest regards, and sincerest apologies,
-Z-man.

Great story, I buy a magazine every 4 years or so and had no problem picking that one up. The only problem is that they did not have a cab in the picture which, in my educated opinion was a huge mistake! I would have volunteered mine but dude never called...

I brought up the scanning issue, only to have a few mention that there are a few among us who honor the copyright laws of this fine nation. Let January pass ( and the shelf display date pass too) and we'll go from there.

To add to the 944 article, EC web had a retrospective article of the 944S2 here:
http://europeancarweb.com/lookback/0502ec_porsche/

I have not read it but it may be error prone too!

I just read the article, and it is spot on. The weight of the car is quoted at 2932lbs, which I think is a little too light. But they were just quoting Porsche specs, and it may have been dry weight, without any heavy options.

Fantastic article! Thanks for posting it!

And the 944S2 article was conveniently packaged in the "oh-so-rightclickable" jpeg format. If only the rest of the mag would follow suit---urrrgh!
