Hi, Just installed timing belt and balance shaft belt. What I need to know is hoe to use the kirket tool for measuring belt tension. My tool did bnot come with instructions. Also thanks to those who responded so quickly on my ask for help on balance shaft alignment. Was actullay a piece of cake.

Check out the instructions at www.arnnworx.com, Bruce has some very helpful hints for using the Kriket. Go to "Tensioning Belts"

This is a hotly debated topic and there's a lot of information here already in other threads, but the generally accepted belief is they're comparable if used properly. I use the Krikit - no problems. Just take several measurements and proceed slowly and methodically - don't cut corners and you'll be fine.

Dont forget to remove the idle pulley and guide rail or you will not have enough room for a good measurement on the timing belt. I have to redo mine because of that.
