Macfreak007,

I have an indoor/limited outdoor use cover from California Car Cover Co. It is the best car cover I have seen. Its definatly not the cheapest cover you can buy, but The workmanship is excelent. The website for California Car Cover Co. is: www.calcarcover.com

If I remember right, mine is the Noah brand one. It sounds like you would want one made for just outdoor with good UV protection and better protection against rain and such.

Give them a call, and let them know what you will be using the cover for, and they will tell you what the best cover would be for what you need it for. There are other companies out there that I found, but I ended up going with Cal Car Cover becuase of their excelent customer service, not to mention an awesome cover.

Hope that helps,
Matthew

Check around, you may be able to rent a private garage or barn real cheap for a few months.

As I understand it, they're not intended for outdoor use.

I have a covercraft car cover for the 944 that I would part with... It was given to me as a gift and I have not used it one time...
If you are interested, send me a PM.

Carl, while in Louisville I used a Covercraft Technalon outside on my 944S2 cab. The cover material is quite thick and really protects the car. In fact, I bought a second cover and use it indoors now on the 951.

Only problem I found is when it rains, since it does soak up a lot of water. Freezing rain would be even worse, but there's not much you can do about that when cars are outside.

IIRC, there's another Covercraft line which sheds water more easily than the Technalon, but costs a bit more. Whatever you do, you don't want a totally water resistant cover (e.g. plastic) because it will allow moisture to build up underneath, which is not good for auto electronics, rust, etc.
