Early console a pain to replace
Ok, so maybe I am being a bit too excited about getting my “Dixie” horn working.
I managed to get my center console mostly disassembled enough to get some wires from the compressor to the switch-bank by the ashtray. Unfortunately, I can’t quite seem to get it all back in the hole. Is there a particular order that this stuff goes together to make it easy, or is this just one of those that’s a pain no matter what?

Pretty much a pain no matter what. I've had mine out probably 10-15 times and it isn't getting any easier. I leave out some of the hard to reach screws though, if I can. www.clarks-garage.com has a prodecure under "early dash removal" that you can follow, it works as well as any.
