Hey, that's a pretty neat solution. I totally understand what you're talking about now. That regulator in the picture is a very early reg. I believe it was superceded by the "A" reg in mid 1978. The "A" reg appears to have then been superceded by the "944" part number in mid 85 when the late dash first appeared.

Mind if I use that picture in my writeup?

Let me know if you want a higher res shot of it, and I am sorry that the door is two tone, the window is dirty and the regulator is rusty, but sure, feel free to use it!
