Does the noise go away when you push the shifter towards a gear.. (imagine you are at a stop with the clutch out, then lean your the shifter in towards a gear)

That is at least one way to get rid of the annoying noise when you are stopped at a light...

Does the S have the same rubber centering disk as the NA? I have the "klunk" sometimes when I release the clutch and my mechaninc told me it was probably the rubber degrading (sometimes all origninal parts is NOT a good thing). He is going to check it when I bring it in next week.

ressurection....

mine does the same thing, noise until I push the pedal in. Replaced my clutch less than 1k miles ago. Only thing different than the original clutch pak was the fact that I used ALL of the "shims" in the kit to get the TO bearing to sit with no free play inside the pressure plate. Might this be my problem, or could it be that the shift fork is not totally releasing, still touching the bearing, and keeping the bearing turning even while under no load? Or is it supposed to always touch it?
Just curious, and now getting nervous about my clutch job.....
