I used to have the desire, that if a big snowstorm was to hit in the daytime, I wanted to go out with the range rover (aka go anywhere slow vehicle) and tow people who are stuck, for tips.
The best tow of the range rover was my dad towing a school bus up a hill on glare ice...... Two wheels of the rover on the sidewalk and up the hill the bus goes! Hehe

I went out for a while today. Had to go to one store to finish christmas shopping. There was alot of traffic considering how bad the roads were. I had to make a detour to do some sliding around and donuts in the meijer parking lot. But I made it home fine, didn't see any wrecks either.

two and a half hours to go 21 miles today, a bit slow I'd say. 30% tread left on performance Michelins, slammed to the ground and way out of alignment and still passing stuck cars, trucks and semi trucks, lol. I got stuck twice in a lot, belly-beached in deep snow. Had to clear the front valance twice, packed withsnow and running a little hot. I just measured 10 inches here at midnight, about 2-3 of it is sleet in the last hour or so. They said on the news that someone called in to say they left work at 3 and at 9 they made it 8 miles to the southbound "cut in the hill" and were stopped. I got a few smiles and nods in traffic, I guess people were amazed that I wasn't stuck? We'll see how morning looks, I have about 14-18 inches of snow in front of the driveway at the street.

My friends SRT-4 is snowbound in the driveway but both porsches are away for winter. The vovlo is in the garage but if it needs to go out we got some snows tires to throw on its already outstanding AWD system.

wow, 2 cars stuck on my street, one was out in 25 mins, the other has been working on it and loosing ground fast for 45 mins, lol. Even funnier, both are FWD! And so much for my shoveling, a half hour later now and I have an inch and a half of sleet. UGH, bed time

There is at least 14" on my back deck! The local news isn't claiming that much, we must have been caught in some heavy downfalls compared some other areas. Looks like I'll be shovelling the driveway when it gets light........................for the 5th time in 24hours! At least I'm getting a good workout thru all of this!
I am so glad I don't have to go to work until tuesday and have all of my shopping done. Time to start a fire and crack open a good book this afternoon, or log onto Rennlist, or Porscheforums.......
