Riff, great idea. It will require a regional contact to keep track of all of those things. There is no way one person could manage that. What do you think, 1 person per region...West, Southwest, Midwest, Southeast, Northeast?

I'm in as well. Editor, photographer, and writing experience to offer. Also have a minor in English for those pesky proof reading tasks. How about a nice 968 Aero Mirror Upgrade how to?

Keith, it is already on my mind. Wanna come up and install my door handles?

I would be willing to setup/host the online magazine infastructure, and maybe use type944.com as the name of the mag if that's what is decided...

The cheapest I was quoted for printing them up as professional looking calendars was over $15 a piece. A little more than I was willing to put into each one before selling them. I realize some of you would have gladly paid that for a calendar that looks decent, I thought that my time would've been more wisely spent if I could've gotten them for under $10, shipping included as I would've sold probably twice as many.
Would it help defray the costs of a nice 944 calendar if RL members could buy a spot for their own car photo on their own B-Day square? At $10-$15 a square there's upwards of $3500 to put against start up costs. You could still have your 12 larger individual monthly photos. Just a thought, in case you rethink the calendar, I got dibs on Feb 23.

Damian - it would be possible (infact it has been done before) but you have to be concerned about the dyno accuracy, as well as other factors. I would like to take a totally stock car and give it a shot though.

Matt, if you mean the 9Magazine 'test' it really fell short-no comparative dyno charts, among other things.

I can check out some of the content management systems and set up some of them as demos on my GhettoServer (TM) if anyone wants. Will definatly be easier to use an existing system and modify it than to whip up something from scratch.

I would also be more than willing to submit some howtos, articles, etc or take car of some misc stuff or webmastering or something.

A few things to consider tho, this sort of site will grow and eventually need a fair chunk of bandwidth. Once we start getting some articles with pics on there, etc, it wont be long before the bills become significant. Is it going to be by subscription to get to most content? Free for all and by donation? Subscription to get to ANY content? Free for all and supported only by ads?

I can help proof read/ edit. While my major is the farthest thing from English, I've always been very good with grammer and spelling. I have tons of extra rennlist webspace, too, if you need somewhere to store stuff.

I think these ideas are great and would also like to contribute in any way possible. I have written/edited a number of articles for various small publications, I would be happy to help.
Ideas in addition to what is listed above:

In depth 944 Cup coverage.

Racetrack Analysis: Each month, a contributor writes a peice with photos describing his/her favorite track.

Upgrade testing: Real world comparisons betwen various tuner's items. Practically all of the different modification options are covered by the members here, writing objective comparos and including real world data would be a cool feature.

Title:
Lets call it "924/944/968 - Everything Else Sucks" And then post links to all the other P-car forums out there.

I would be more than willing to give some bucks and do a few tech articles like auto to 5-speed conversion. I have also built my own injector test stand where I can flush cleaner through the injectors to give them a good cleaning. Do you guys think there would be some folks interested in those type of articles?
