Ouch...Tough to tell about the motor, though with what looks to be a very severe impact, I would believe something got pushed back into the motor. Good luck with it.

You know, I wouldn't think that thing was totaled until I saw the cassette door hinge was broken.
Seriously though, on Wed. check the transmission. That shifter looks like it is at a really odd angle, if the motor got pushed back it could have damaged the transmission.

I'm thinking either the torque tube or transmission took a lot of the impact. I think that explains the shifter. I would imagine you will find the transmission mounts damaged, and the spare tire well dented by the transmission.

I'm wondering, if you get the car for $200, could you part with the set of phone dials for a cheap price? I'm getting a late 951, but I would like a set of phone dials for it.

Wow, any information on how the accident happened? Im surpised to see the airbags went off. All this talk about 'old explosives' in your face. Let me know if you are able to get the rear valance from it if everything works out...it would turn out too be a nice winter project for me while im off from school!

Speaking from experience, if you could get it for 2 to 3 hundred, it would not be bad. I will say, the engine is most likely damaged. More than likely, where the motor mount arms bolt to the motor, it might have damgaged the block. The first 951 that I purchased was not hit as hard as that one, and the block was busted on the passanger side. As far as the tranny, the shifter rod probley broke off the rod that goes into the tranny. The 951 that I have now, that is what happened to the tranny. The higher dollar stuff is probley trash, but there is probley about 1k worth of small things still good. You have to decide if it is worth it to you.... getting it home, storing while parting and time involved taking it apart. For 100.00 I would do it, for 300.00 probley not, for 500.00 nope.

If you notice in the interior pic, not only is the shifter cocked over bad, the whole tunnel is bent.
