Well, as the axiom goes... you want to go fast? how much money do you have?

I've heard of 350hp E30s with some of the BMW motorsports parts on them, but with that kind of money you could have custom machined intakes and forced induction on a p-car. Either way, I'd say both are "drastic" measures.

Drastic measures are completely unnecessary on an M3. You can pick up the 20 to 30 hp fairly easily that would make it faster than the 944. Not so easy with the 944S or S2. That's the real world. "Stock vs stock" is only good for bench racing.

Bill, depends on what power numbers we're talking about. If we're talking 20-30hp, yes, the BMW can get that easily and "cheaply" as compared to the p-car. Get into higher numbers and the cost of performance add-ons is as sky-high as the 944's forced induction possibility. Just my $0.02
