Thanks to everyone for all the advice and suggestions.

Tom, that's a great write up!

The hood shocks I got from the dealer are "Stabilus" and cost a good bit more than what I had paid in the past. Dealer price in part, but also these are different from the units I used on my 83. They seem heavier.

I started a thread about lower profile wipers and people took the **** in other threads at me! I think the stock ones are too big and block a good amount of visual space... ah well.

PS I have broken a windscreeen taking the bonnet off yay for no excess windscreen insurance!

I have now worn 270 N Stabilus. Can I put 540 N instead? The suport will resist?

This must be an NA nose thing. It's the same way on my 83.

The turbo front clip, however, is a different story. Just got through replacing both front hood shocks with my brother, and let me tell you, IT TOUCHES.

In fact if I hadn't had a helper, I'm quite sure I would have tagged the windshield.

Thanks to Tom and those who suggested doing this with help. You probably saved my expensive cabriolet windshield!
