I have had in storage for a number of years a 924 that i think is a Martini Rossi
Where do you look for option numbers?
Any help in identifying it? Vin # 9247210643
Also, any idea on its value? it has 54000 miles, runs a bit rough and needs a tune up but drives ok
It has been repainted orignal white as a result of minor front end damage and the outside graphics are gone, but it has the white wheels, red carpet and seat inserts, and the plague on the console.

I've never seen this kit in person, so I can't vouch for the quality, but here's a complete set of repro stripes. http://www.classified-adverts.com/staticstpages/159.htm

Thanks for the input. The wheels are white, the seats have the inserts as you describe. And of course, the famous plaque. The car was repainted by the previous owner, and pinstripes were put in place of the Martini Rossi graphic package. I appreciate all the info from you all.
To do it justice, it should be repainted and the graphic package put on it.
I think I will clean it up and put it up for sale. Thanks

I helped that company in the link make those reproduction decals using my Champ. Ed. car. You can also go directly to their website http://www.porschedecals.com They are perfect reproductions, if you wanted to get the car proper again.

Not to bash your hopes but that car is pretty much worthless. The 924NA in the states in pristine condition both mechanicaly and aestheticaly is probably worth about $2000-$3000 tops. Being a Martini edition means nothing unless you are a collector and even then its' value depreciates since it's not the original paint and not the original graphics. Sorry to burst your bubble, being a previouse 924 owner I know how it feels but unfortunately that is the bitter truth. Best of luck with selling the car.

I don't know enough about 924 values to give an opinion on that, but even if azndrgn's assessment is spot on, that doesn't detract from the fact that you have a very cool car on your hands. I'd say get the stripes, tune it up and enjoy the heck out of it. Or sell it to someone who will. Good luck!

jfrahm from what I've seen 924NA's fetch about $2-$3K tops anything past that and you can buy a 924 turbo which can run up into the $5K's.
Elf89 the car is cool as hell but jimbob sounded like he wanted to sell it and turn a big profit. I just wanted him to be prepared so that he will know that he won't really get much for it.

The 1977 Martini was the first limited edition 924 model.
This model was done to perk up the 924's image, by identifying it with the companys highly suscessfull racing program. Its motife, to celebrate Porsches victory in the 1976 world championships of makes. The car was done in grand prix white (a 911 color) and had the blue, red and white race side stripes of Porsches sponser, Martini & Rossi. The only differences from a non-limited edition 924 were, the color (grand prix white), stripes, dash plaque (noting victories of 1969/1970/1971/1976), wheels, anti roll bars front and rear, and the interior color scheme. Otherwise the engine, transmision, etc. remained standard (Audi) pieces.
Option M426 was produced from 12/76 to 3/77. 2,000 of these cars went to the US, with 1,000 going to the rest of the world.
After the Martini, came the likes of a special French model (1978), Sebring model (1980), Le Mans (1980), Weissach (1981). Then came the turbo model, special edition turbo USA (1979 - 600 total), Carrera GT (1980 - 474 total), Carrera GTS (1981 - 59 total), special edition turbo Italy (83 - 88 total).

I have been working on a web site (as time permits) to provide more information about the Championship Edition (AKA Martini & Rossi). It very, very basic right now. I hope to improve it as time permits. I agree with AnzDrgn's point, but you can't get much for several grand let alone a Porsche. I think its an inexspensive way to join the "club".
