Car is not from the US. Should read WP0AAXXXXXX, this is a 1990 model? Is it grey market or did they change the VIN code in 1990?

Thanks soooo much! I just read that Carfax with complete confusion. That was supposed to be the VIN to my 1986 Porsche 944 turbo! When I bouth the car (across the country) I had the guy send me the title and it showed a 1986 Porsche. I never thought twice about it! Turns out, he sent me the wrong title! He sent me the title to his '86 928S! YIKES! Now I'm trying to get hold of him to let him know, but I think he is in Europe untill late next week! You sure saved me some trouble! Thanks sooooo much! Now to go about getting this all straightened out!
