Default Georgia Mtn Drive Saturday Dec 18th

Hi all - there are about 7-10 of us that do drives up in the GA mountains about 3-4x a year and we've got another drive coming up on Saturday Dec 18th. We've really spread the word this time so we're hoping to get a Large turnout. so far about 10-12 new people are going to be there and we'd like to add plenty more. we meet between 7:30-7:45am in the Starbuck's parking lot off of Mansell Rd just east of GA 400. We leave by 8am and head up GA 400 till near the end then veer off for the mountains. there are some pretty incredible roads up there that really can test your car. our last drive in sept the roads were WIDE open because we left early (like this time) and had them all to ourselves. Anyway, we are usually in back in Atlanta proper by noon to get back to our families. sometimes a few stick together for lunch and go to Helen but that just depends whose up for it.

even if you can't make it for the drive, just come to the parking lot for the sendoff so that we may all meet and hopefully plan another in the new year.

let me know if any of you are interested.

That sounds like an awesome drive. It would be a good send off to do following my exams too. Too bad I am like 5 hours away. How many cars do you have total. You said 7-10 + 10 -12 makes [17-22] people.

we've got 17 as of right now - as the drive goes on, little groups of 4-5 start to form depending on their driving styles but we stop about every 30 minutes and allow everybody to regroup, share stories, and talk to locals/other car enthusiasts who happen to be out there. we've seen everybody from the 356 owners to Fcar's - i think you should get up here and "breathe" a little after exams

see you soon!

I would have to come up the night before and stay with friends that work in ATL. That sounds like a blast. Sounds like vitesse might be bringing out the 930. (on turbo board).

Sounds like fun! Are you going with the PCA guys? I went on one a couple years ago with PCA, organized with International Performance center. I'd like to try and get my waterpump issue in order first before I commit.

most of us are PCA members but this is not any sort of a PCA sponsored run - it's open to all Porsche enthusiasts

Dave, its about a 3 1/2 hr drive if you can really make good time. Usually about 4 - 4.5 hours. I'm from Charlotte and still make frequent visits to and fro to visit my family.
