Vacuum line to airco/heater question

Hi,
I've retrofitted a type 2 airco/heater in a type 1 944. I have a question about the vacuum lines going to the airco/heater. There are 2 tubes coming into the engine bay that look like vacuum lines. Do I just hook those up? I have the schematics from the workshop manual, but those don't include the lines that go to the airco/heater.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Regards,
Riplin

Hi,
They're not very sharp, but it'll have to do:
Those small tubes are hidden begind that piece of firewall that still has to be cut away:

More pics at: http://www.kogelman.nu/944.html (takes some time to load).
Which of those small tubes (not visible on the pictures) connects to what?
Thanks,
Riplin

Riplin, that is an awesome project you have there. I really have to admire your ambition. I am over 50 so my memory is suspect but I think the bottom hose goes to the heater (water) valve. The top one is vacuum from the check valve/regulator near the brake booster. I chased all of this down a few years ago on my '87na looking for a "heat on all the time" problem.
The Porsche 944 parts manual has a pretty good diagram.
