Default Extrude honed intake

Anyone had this done to their cars yet? Any measurable gains? I've been seriously thinking about doing this but wanted to see if anyone has done it.

Thanks
Efren

What kind of a cost quote are you getting?

my buddy did it on his Prelude along with cleaning up the head a little and he dyno'd 188HP which is about 10-12 hp higher than a stock car. IMO it's not worth it unless you have ported your head and done a lot of other things to improve flow within your engine.

Its worth it if you need extra air..

Example (Power adders), Larger Pistons + Throttlebody +Maf Kit + exhaust. You have to enlarge everything if you want to see a nice addition in power because the stock parts flow good anuff to meet the needs of a stock engine.

Back when I checked it was about $500,

I do not think enough material is removed to increase flow very much.

not much material is removed at all. The main purpose of extrude honing is to knock down the high spots left from casting imperfections. When my buddies manifold came back there were still a couple of low spots that weren't really touched.

Extrude honing is wonderful stuff for the right parts. Turbine housings are great to extrude hone. It improves efficiency nicely. Cleans up rough stuff great. I had the exhaust manifold, turbine housing, and J-pipe Extrude Honed on my turbo G20.

I doubt it would do much for a 944 intake without a buttload of other mods to the 944 engine. You'd be much better off spending that money on a JME cam or header.

Thanks guys. Looks like it's not worth the cost.
